GWANDA -- Abafundi besikolo seMkwidzi Secondary esiseGwanda North, eMatebeleland South, bakhala ngokuthi bahamba umango omude besiya esikolo okubafaka engozini yokudlwengulwa ikakhulu abangamantombazana.
Lokhu kuvele lapho kunanzwa usuku lweDay of the African Child Ngolwesithathu emkhosini obuqoqwe yinhlanganiso yeWorld Vision. Abafundi laba bakhala njalo ngokwehluleka ukuthi bangene ebulenjini lapho besesikolo okudala ukuthi basalele emuva.
Lanxa kulezikolo zemfundo yaphansi eziyisithupha kuWard 2 kuleSecondary eyodwa nje iMkwidzi Secondary School okudala ukuthi inengi labafundi lihambe imango engamakilomita alitshumi lane-14km nsuku zonke lisiya esikolo.
UKhansila wabontanga okaWard 2 eGwanda North uMemory Dube uthi lokhu kufaka inengi labafundi engozini.
“Lanxa kulama primary ayisithupha kuWard 2 kuleSecondary eyodwa nje iMkwidzi.Lamhlanje njengoba sithakazelela usuku lweDay of the African Child asikhangeleni kakuhle ukuthi umntwana osemakhaya uthwala nzima kangakanani ukufinyelela ezemfundo, kuhanjwa umango omude lapha, njengabe Secondary bona bahamba amakhilomitha alitshumi lanhlanu nsukuzonke besiza esikolo, akula eyinye indlela abangahamba ngayo njalo ntambama bahamba sekumnyama okubafaka engozini ykubanjwa ngobhinya.”
Uphinde wathi lanxa uhulumende enikeze isikolo sabo amalaptop udubo olukhona ngobokuswelakala kwamagagasi yokungena ebulenjini.
“ISecondary yathola amalaptop angu 30 phansi kohlelo lukahulumende, lanxa silayo limtshina njalo sithakazelela ukuyisebenzisa ukuswelakala kwamagagasi ukuze singene ebulenjini kusibisela emuva, emhlabeni yonke jikelele lezinsuku abantu sebexhumana ngamafoni lamalaptop kodwa umntwana wemakhaya usele emva elwisana lokulingana losedolobheni.Kungakho siyacela ukuthi sithuthukiswe lathi ezikolo zemakhaya.”
UMqondisi wenhlanganiso emela amalungelo abomama lamantombazana eyeWomen Development Association of Zimbabwe iWODAZ uNkosikazi Sethekele Tshabangu uthi abafundi abagamantombazana basengozini enkulu kakhulu ngenxa yemango abayihamba besiya esikolo.
“Umntwana oyinkazana ikakhulu emaphandleni simthola elohlupho olukhulu kakahulu njalo nxa sikhangele lebanga abalihambayo besiya esikolo lide kakhulu, uthola abantwana abangamankazana umuntu wakhona esuka ekuseni abazali bengakavuki aphinde abuye ebusuku abazali sebelele, kube lemango le abayihambayo uthola sebehlukuluzwa ngokwecansi abanye babo bayatshaywa ngabantu abathandaba labo.”
UNkosikazi Thando Mauba olilunga lenhlanganiso yababalisi eyeEducators Union of Zimbabwe uthi inengi labafundi bemaphandleni kaliphumeleli ezifundweni ngenxa yemango emide abayihamba mihla ngemihla.

UMnu Urgent Moyo isiphathamandla senhlanganiso yababalisi eye Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe eZansi yemaNdebeleni uthi izikolo ziyasilela kulesisabelo.

Abenhlanganiso yeWorld Vision abaqoqe lumkhosi bathi uhlelo lwabo lweProfuturo obeluncedisa abafundi lababalisi ukuthi babfunde besebenzisa omakhalelekhukhwini seluthuthukise ezemfundo emaphandleni.
